The story

I might look a bit crazy in this photo (🤪🤩) but to be honest, I am crazy for this project. It has been on my mind for exactly ten years. Punctually, for the anniversary of a decade of doing nothing - I finally brought it to life.

And it has been a journey. Ups and downs, endless small steps in right and wrong directions. And I wouldn‘t do anything different.🥰

What makes this journey so worth it since the beginning, are not the big numbers and successes (they are not there yet anyways) - it is the support from my closest family and friends, who just started cheering for me and supporting this without me ever expecting or asking for it. If you are part of my family and friends, I love you. I wouldn‘t have had so much joy without you🫶🏼

If you are part of the lebendigg family - welcome! Welcome to a space where we share thoughts, where we support each other in our life‘s challenges and treasures, and where we are so proud to be ourselves, in the most perfectly imperfect way. Welcome with so much love, I hope we will be here together for a long while. 🤍

Also, writing this was so much fun. I am starting to think about creating a blog on this website for tackling different thoughts on life…

Why ‚lebendigg‘

Lebendig‘ means ‚alive‘ in german. The double ‚g‘ gives it the vibe of the scandinavian ‚hygge‘ and makes it more original. Yes, so lebendigg is all about being alive - about everything between birth and death.

I believe that what gives meaning to our life, is that one day we all die. I fully felt and understood that when my mum died. It was horrible. And it felt so surreal, but it was real. The temporariness of our life is real. That makes it even more important to give some thought to our lives: how do we want to live it, what is most important to us (is it keeping up with what we see on social media or is it being fully present in the small, magical moments with our loved ones?), and what do we love about ourselves (maybe we actually really love our quirks and our heart and personality, rather than only the superficial stuff?)?

Already ten years ago, I wanted to name my clothing brand ‚alive‘. I have always been fascinated with life, and all the miracles that it holds. If you just hold that question in your mind: What are all the little (and big) miracles that your life offers to you? … if you hold it in your mind for at least one day, I bet you will find sooo many answers.

And if you don‘t mind, share them with me! The company e-mail is on the bottom of this site. I would love to see a glimpse of your perspective.

Just to name a few of the miracles i find breathtaking: eyesight, being able to hear, the existence of music, the existence of trees, sunlight shining through the leaves, rainbows, blue oceans, sea life, wild life, love, care, empathy, hugs, tears, laughs (in this moment we have so much joy that the body can‘t keep it together!), the fact that our body is breathing thousands of times a day without us having to put effort or concentration on it, as well as our pumping hearts just constantly working out for us so that we can experience this day … there is so much beauty in our lives. I feel like we need to emphasize these things, because the hard and negative things in life already have their attention.

Lebendigg brings all the beauty and magic of life back to your consciousness. It is a movement of seeing the beautiful things life offers us. Seeing the things that don‘t even cost anthing, that slip into the background of being seen as ‚ordinary‘. These are not ordinary, so let‘s bring back these things into our conversations and thoughts!

The woman behind the clothing

Hi, I‘m Nicole, 27 years old, been through some rough but also great twenties. I love to develop my mind, soul and heart, to talk about life, to eat and cook healthy, and to be weird.

At the moment, I am working three jobs: I am working in a primary school by daily taking care of a group of 24 kids, taking them to lunch, doing homework and most importantly, helping them with their everyday feelings. Also, I am working at an outdoor bar, selling drinks and pizza. And now, I am also building lebendigg ☺️🙏🏼 It is a chaotic, broke, but also rewarding life that never gets boring.

I also want to give a shoutout to my man: without his open ears, wise words, love and support I wouldn‘t be where I am today.
